Hi, my name is Amber. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate. I received a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lubbock Christian University in 2021. As an L.P.C.-A., I am supervised by Amber Chapman, M.A. L.P.C.- S.

I journeyed into Mental Health after teaching for 5 years and I truly believe it is where the Lord’s path for my life began to unfold. It was one of those moments where it seemed that everything was falling into place, and I wish I had arrived sooner. My passion for the importance of Mental Health began to ignite. If we’re not in a good place mentally, we are not in a state of openness to hear or see what the Lord has provided. I have learned that Mental Health Awareness is masked by the stigma of diagnosis. In reality, being mentally healthy comes down to self care. No diagnosis is needed for therapy. What a revelation that is to know that counseling is set up for individuals to process through the ups and downs that come with life with a non biased person. My therapy model is client centered, which allows an opportunity for openness, acceptance, and healing. I feel empowered by understanding these things are all connected to the plan the Lord has for us.

As my passion began to grow, I entered my very own season of brokenness where I would need to be reminded of the importance of Mental Health. In 2019, just 3 years after being married, we received an infertility diagnosis that shattered our dreams of being parents. I suddenly became a member of the most devastating team on Earth, the 1 in 8 crew. Shortly after starting IVF, I experienced 2 pregnancy losses. My grief seemed unbearable, my anger consuming, and my life felt meaningless. The Lord met me right in that season of despair, which led me to experience true healing through an equine session. That moment was pivotal for me as a clinician. I can never truly explain how that therapeutic encounter healed me, but I wanted to be in that moment again and share it with other people. My hope is to be a hand the Lord uses to offer moments of healing, just as I experienced that day.

I desire to walk alongside those struggling with all the ups and downs of life. I am thankful the Lord heals and meets us right where we’re at. If you’ve suffered a miscarriage of any nature or lost an infant or child, your loss matters. As isolating as grief feels, don’t suffer alone. I am beyond thankful the Lord allows me an opportunity to sit with those suffering a loss I know all too well.
